Kate and Jack

Katelyn and the Scott Murphy Allen family have had a tough week. Daddy left yesterday AM for a work conference in San Francisco (we miss you daddy). Katelyn must have been fed up with the week b/c last night she turned to her friend Jack.

She must take after her Daddy and Gramps (and Mommy actually). Jack is a family friend. I think it's funny that she went for a Jack and Diet Coke, mommy's usual mixer.

Why has the week been bad? An ear infection started Sunday, Monday at the docs, monday PM she had a bad reaction to the medicine. She's already allergic to penicillin so the doctors were puzzled. I think she is finally straight on the meds as of this morning. Poor thing has been in great spirits but her tummy was so upset. Tuesday night I finally threw her in teh car and drove around for a while at 11:30p. CVS gets a plug here. I went to the 24 hr. CVS, told them at the window what we needed, and they went to get it for us. So nice.

Can't wait to have daddy back next week!!!!

Next steps

It looks like katelyn is on the verge of walking! Here's a video of proof. She has changed so much in the past two weeks. Tooth count: 5!

Papa ger and mama Lin are on a trip, nicknamed tour de Natchez. Papa ger is biking the whole way and mama Lin is driving. They are over the 100 mile mark. Way to go papa ger. Can't wait to hear all about it. Stay safe.

Go USA

Katelyn really enjoyed her first world cup. Here she is watching the final and clapping. Sad loss, but I'm happy for japan.

Scott was really sick last week and my work has been crazy. Sorry for the lack of posts.

At the lake

Well, our week has been a doozie. It started Wednesday with a call from school. "katelyn has a fever". Scott picked her up and got a form saying katelyn had to stay home the next day. Grammy and gramps daycare was open for business, THANKS!!! Her temp creeped up so we got a doctors appt. Dr. G did some tests and didn't find anything. The last thing to check for is strep, but kids this young usually don't get it. Well do a culture just to be sure. ". It was positive. Darn daycare.

Saturday morning she woke up with a bad rash. A few phone calls with the doc and we were on our way back to kids time, the after hours emergency pediatricians office. Kate is allergic to penicillin. Poor thing was covered with a rash.

We went to the pool the rest of the day. One of the reasons we love our neighborhood is that the club provides kegs of beer on holiday weekends. LOVE THAT.

Katelyn went to lake arrowhead Sunday to visit Brandon, Kelly and Ben (2 months). We had a blast, but katelyn was in a really bad mood. Here she is sleeping on the dock. Yes, we got her to take a nap on a boat dock...nice, huh?

The rest of the evening was putting katelyn to bed and sleeping. boy was the allen clan tuckered out!

Thanks to Ben for having us up to his house. It's always enjoyable up on Lake Arrowhead!
