Friends

Meet katelyn's daycare friends. There is a set of 9 month old triplets and the owners son. He turned one today. Here is katelyn at the birthday party.

Remember...deer in headlights around cameras. At least she's not alone.

Green beans

Katelyn is pretty quick. Instead of the spoonful of green beans going in her mouth, this is where they ended up!!

Feeling better

Kate played in her jumpy today. It's usually one of her favorites, but she wouldn't go near it while sick. I think we've passed a hurdle. She's still sick but seemed a little better today.

Hooray!

A bug

Of the sick species. The Scott Allen family is down with a sick bug. More to come when we all recover. Poor little Katelyn is having a pretty tough time, but the doc said it was just a really bad virus.

6 month photo shoot

Last Sunday, we did a 6 month photo shoot. We put katelyn in our favorite dress/outfit. She is somewhat camera shy, whenever she sees a camera instead of smiles we usually get "dear in headlights". We did get some pretty cute ones. Here are some of our favorites.

New Kid on the Block

Yesterday and today have been milestone days in Katelyn's life. Yesterday, I put her in a nursery for the first time. I volunteered at my church (Kristi- it was fun!). I'm sure Katelyn did fine, but she had some signs of crying (dried salt near the corner of her eye). That made my heart ache a little. Kristi and Ray's son Reid was with her. At least she had a familiar face. She must have been overstimulated. She was with my parents the 2nd 1/2 of the day and passed out for 3 hours when she usually naps an hour.

Today was a much bigger milestone. She started daycare. This is a natural next step, my parents can't watch her forever. She is attending an in-home daycare twice a week until she starts at her school. I love the daycare and the owner, so that gives me comfort. The owner watches her son, Katelyn and a set of 3 triplet girls. The owner was nice enough to send me a pic of her playing with the triplets. I bet she'll sleep good tonight! This will really be her first playdate. I think she'll do just fine, but we will see.

It was a little different dropping her off somewhere else. I've had a nanny at my house before, but this is a new place for her. I'm a little emotional, but not as much as I thought I'd be. I'm anxious to see how she does overall today. Sweet katelyn...mommy is sending you her love!!!!!

12 mos?

Does this look like a 12 month outfit to you? It is. Moms- how is this supposed to fit?

Shelves- r-us

Or should say shelves-r-scott?

I think they look great! They really help to complete the room. It's one of my favorite phrases too.

Feeding time

Kate started feeding herself this weekend. We've been told this is a huge milestone for mommy and daddy getting some freedom back. It's nice to let her feed herself the bottle and do something else at the same time. It's funny how little things like paying your bills can get forgotten with a little one.

We had a very productive weekend so far... We've:
Done our taxes
Hung some shelves
Filed a huge stack of bills
Ordered a playroom rug
Got Kate a beach towel and swimsuit (yes the sunglasses will match perfectly)
Attended a big neighborhood st. Pattys party (which will make accomplishing anything today a miracle)

School's Calling

Ok, I've been a little m.i.a. due to a very hectic work life. I do have some news to report though.

1) we got a call from our #1 school for Katelyn. She's been on the wait list. We officially heard that she will start May 23rd. Our little baby is growing up so fast. I'm very excited for her to start at her school in dunwoody. The program is top-notch, the ratio is low, and other parents whose kids go there can't say enough good things. One of our neighbor's kids attends and they should be in the same class when Katelyn graduates to the "Wobbler" classroom.

2) She's litterally on the verge of crawling. she picks it up more and more each day. We have to get her onto her knees, but then she'll leap forward. She can definitely scoot around on the floor. The second she hits her back she flips to her belly so she can move around better. She's getting the hang of this moving thing very fast. I give her a week before we can officially call her a crawler.

She's been a lot of fun. I'll post more pics this weekend.

Beach time

We are heading to the beach in April so Kate insisted in trying out some shades. Cute, huh!

New ride

I blogged about our new ride on the park post, but for some reason only half of my email got posted. Scott and I got our new mom mobile. We got an Audi Q7. It has a 3rd row of seats and most of the bells and whistles we wanted. The main thing it doesn't have is a DVD player. This is because it has a really big sunroof the length of the car.

We love it. It is midnight blue (my favorite color) with tan interior. I so glad we got a good deal on it. I'll try to grab a picture soon.
