Bundle me

We finally put the warm bundle me on the car seat. Doesn't Bean look cute in her new ride?

I'll send some of the close up shots too.

Kate has been growing so much. Her hair is getting longer and actually seems to be turning lighter. She reaches for EVERYTHING! She'll Scott across the floor if she has something to kick off from (like our hands). Her newest thing is throwing stuff on the ground then looking to see where they landed.

She turned 5 months last week. Hard to believe!! Such a good little girl! She's usually pretty happy, which makes me happy!

Ice, Ice Baby

Daddy decided a few months ago he wanted to play ice hockey (his big brother plays).

Scott had his first game Monday night. I was so sad to miss it, but Kate and I got in on the pre- game by giving daddy lots of good luck high fives. He was a tad nervous. This game would be the fourth time ice skating...yes, EVER. I may have to get a sitter so I can go watch a game.

Here he is with all of his gear. Those who went to the game said it was great! Scott's cousin Jake is on his team, so there were lots of Allen spectators. His dad even drove down from Chattanooga! Scott got good reviews from what I hear. GOOD JOB DADDY!

Truly Blessed

Katelyn was baptized last Sunday, 1/9/11. She shared the special event with her cousins Max and Alex. It was a great ceremony at the beginning of our church service. We celebrated with a brunch with the immediate family. It was such a special day in Katelyn's life. She was as cute as can be in her gown (gifted by Papa Ger and Mama Lin...thanks!).

Here are some pics.

V is for Veggie

Katelyn had her first veggie at lunch. Can you tell which veggie it was by the pic?

Here is a hint: she must love carbs!

She liked them so much she cried when she realized there weren't any left.

Snow day

Haven't been this excited about a snow day since middle school! A day home with katelyn is a huge blessing. I'll try to download the baptism pics later today. All went great... Such a special day! We are a blessed family!

God Bless Kate!

Tomorrow is a very exciting day. Katelyn is getting baptized. I'm getting emotional just thinking about it. We decided to keep it to immediate family, but we will do a blog post with pics and all the details.

Think of katelyn tomorrow morning at 9am. She'll be baptized at our new church, Dunwoody Methodist. Her cousins Max and Alex will be baptized with her too!

Can't wait!

Happy jumping

Here's a video of katelyn going crazy in the jumperoo. She looks like she is dancing, maybe in Irish riverdance style. She cracks us up when she's in this thing!!

She had apples in her rice cereal about a hour before this. Scott and I wonder if she is on an apple sugar high. Anyone else see this in your kids?

Jump, Jump, Jump

Our friends Ray and Kristi handed down a jumperoo that their kids had outgrown. It took her a few days to grow into it, where her feet touched the ground. Once she was tall enough...game on! Katelyn's favorite thing to do now is play in the jumperoo. She normally smiles ear to ear and has a look of "oh my goodness, this is FUN!" on her face. We even have heard what sound like giggles. She hasn't exactly laughed out loud yet, but has some loud gasps of air that sound like a mini-giggle. There are a few toys that get an instant grin and what could be a giggle. The jumperoo is tops of that list. Daddy grabbed a video last night. She actually seems to be concentrating very hard in this one, normally she is much more animated. I'll try to grab a better video, but in the meantime here is our big girl in action at 4.5 months.

I love to eat, eat, eat...

Apples and Banannas! All you moms know this song. It has been the one kid's song I knew by heart long before Kate came along. In high school I worked in a child care at a gym and the Barney version of "apples and banannas" has been in my head ever since.

About 2 weeks ago at katelyn's 4 month appointment we got the okay to start rice cereal. She did okay with it, but the look on her face told me she thought it was gross. A few friends suggested mixing in some fruit to help with the taste. WHAT A GREAT IDEA! We started Monday night, and now we have a very good eater on our hands. She opens her mouth for the next bite and doesn't make much of a mess. I'll have to post a video of her eating.

She's staying at my parents full time now. They said they'll video her next apples and cereal meal. We do one in the am with mommy and daddy, then grammy and gramps give her a second bowl at their house in the late afternoon.

Next week, we'll introduce banannas to the mix. Soon after that, the veggies will start :) Big Girl!
