This is how our pregnancy story begins, or at least this is when we'll start telling our story. Scott and I have been trying to conceive for a while now. I had been to the girly doctor Nov. 20th, and at that point we were not pregnant. Forward to the Christmas holidays...
Mama Lin (that's what Holly my sister-in-law and I call Mrs. Allen aka Scott's mom) came into town to help Scott and I prepare for hosting Scott's family (around 24 people) in our new house on Christmas Eve. I woke up on Dec. 24th with a lot of nausea. I felt horrible, I mean the room may as well have been spinning. I've had my share of horrible hangovers in my time (many of you know these as Ashley Day's), and this rivaled the "stay in bed" all day sickness I feel on those Ashley Day's. I decided a little food might help cure me. A few pieces of toast seemed to be a quick cure. I was instantly better and was able to get the house and food ready for the party that night. Thanks Mama Lin for all your help that day and to my parents for all their help getting the house ready!
The party was a success. Allen fun as always. Scott and I woke up the following day feeling sick...again. Only this was worse. Scott and I were definitely coming down with something. I told myself in the back of my head...take a pregnancy test just to be sure. I mean, if Scott is sick too...surely I'm not pregnant. Well, but my boobs have been a little sore. That must just mean my monthly friend is coming. Nevermind, just take a test so you know its safe to take the cold/flu medicine.
Forward to Monday, December 28th. Still feeling crappy and with nausea being far too frequent, I decided to finally take a pregnancy test...just to tick that off the list. It took no less than 5 seconds for the blue line to confirm a positive pregnancy. Was I excited? At first it was more confusion...a little bit of "holy sh*t" because of the Nov. 20th "not pregnant" from the doctor. I called Scott in to make sure I was reading the test properly. I was. I assumed it could be a false positive since I had been so sick and called to make an appointment at the doctor. We were both cautiously optomistic, but decided to wait until the docs appointment to decide this was the real deal.
I just went back and read your whole blog- I love every little detail! You are going to be such a fabulous mom!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
