It's a beautiful day for a first swing ride. We had fun at the park by our neighborhood pool. Here's a pic of our cutie in the swing.

Farewell Black Beauty

I'm a car person. I love my cars. Last night, I said goodbye to my car. I sold my 2000 Acura TL due to a lack of room for the car seat and daddy at the same time.

How's this for a quick sale? I put it on Craigslist at 9:15am and got two offers, sight unseen by 10a (I must say...it was a pretty good ad if I do say so myself). I was a little weary, but met the first guy with his wife and 5 year old last night. They bought it after a quick test drive.

I hadn't cleaned it and still had ALL my stuff in it. I wasn't really expecting to sell it so fast. I thought for sure I'd have her through the week. I was sad to see her go, especially since I wasn't expecting to say goodbye quite so soon.

I think she went to a good home. Farewell black beauty!

What am I driving now, you ask? That's a good question, but I can't reveal the answer just yet. More to come...

Off the chart

Kate had her 6 month check up today. She did great! She is 17.75 lbs, 75th percentile. Her head circumstance grew from 75th to 90th. And then there is her length... HOLY MOLEY!

She's 28". She was in the 95th percentile. What is she now? Very good question, she's no longer on the chart. That means she's above 100%. Katelyn is very tall right now. We are amazed. She will soon move to a convertible car seat because of her length. She must have a really long torso because she is about to outgrow 9 month onesies. It's time to shop for big girl clothes :)

She also had 4 more shots. I don't think I'll ever get used to that. We go back at 9 months.

On a different note, love this weather!!! I can't wait for the weekend even though we have no free time, it'll be a great weekend!!

Kate wanted to play in the laundry basket tonight. Mommy let her (supervised of course).

I just came back from washing bottles in the kitchen. I left Kate on her mat toward the polka dotted lion.

Shout out to da da

Big Girl Outfit

We got Kate a cute little outfit (ok, grammy got it for her). She wore it today and my parents were nice enough to send me this pic. The shirt has matching flowers on it. SO CUTE!



Is it just me or is my baby growing up too quickly? She looks like she could be 18 months in this picture...not 6!

Hokey Pokey

Where is a little white dot on Katelyn's lower gum. COULD IT BE A TOOTH? i for one think it is a tooth trying to poke through. I'll let you know when the mystery is solved.

On a side note, we had our first nanny day today. My parents need a break from watching her full-time so she is going to stay with a nanny on Wednesdays until we can find something like an in-home daycare for her part time. It makes me so happy when she reaches open armed for her caretakers. She did the same for Laura this morning. Her nanny's name is Laura and she is the sister of Katelyn's first ever babysitter, Julia. They are both so great with kids. It makes me happy that she gets to have fun with Laura all day. It's hard to trust your most treasured possession with someone who isn't a family member. I'm lucky to have Laura! I'll grab a pic of them and post it soon.

And yes Grammy and Gramps, Katelyn told me at lunch that she misses you very much and likes you more than Laura. don't worry, you are still her #1 :)

Goooooooaaaaaallllllllll!!!!

Daddy scored his first goal in hockey last night. We are so proud of him! Way to go Scott!!!!!!!!!!! (If only his games weren't at 10:30pm maybe mommy could get a sitter and actually watch a game).

Toes

So few weeks now Kate has displayed a foot fetish. She gets so tickled watching peoples feet.

This week it went to a new level. A toe obsession, specifically eating her toes. Here is a pic of her in action. I hear this is normal so I'm not too worried.

a quick trip x 2

x 2= in hockey and the air

Scott traveled to Conneticut/NY for 2 days starting Monday to do a big presentation. Presentation went great, then as scott was driving his boss and his bosses boss back to their hotels they told him to try and go get on a flight "tonight" (being last night). They were expecting 2 feet of snow today, so this was such blessing. He would have probably gotten delayed or even stuck.

This also allowed him to get another quick trip in...to his Monday night hockey game at 10:40p. He did great at hockey too, only he said he did have one fall that got a loud "ohhhhhhh" from the crowd. he thinks he secured some quality time on the bloopers reel again. I'm proud of him for even trying a new sport so late in life. (one of the 1st things that attracted me to him were his athletic skills.)

3rd reason I was really glad Scott made it home last night: a bad night for Kate. up for about 3.5 hours collectively between us lucky parents. Hope tonight is better. She has been talking up a storm and changing so much this week. In 4 days she has started

On a fun note, we are car shopping through Tripper's friend at the car auctions. There is an auction tomorrow so we may be new car owners tomorrow :) Yipee skippy.
